A really really wonderful 11 years.

Working from home is the greatest

Hello,
My family and I frequent the Common Cents that is on the way home from my in-laws and have done so since it opened.

Last night on our way home from opening Christmas gifts, we realized that we needed some snacks at our house. So we followed our usual plan and made a stop at Common Cents.

My kids headed inside as I gathered my wallet and cell phone and headed in.

During that short period of time the Lady working rose her voice at my children and told them to close the door or they would be in trouble. My son was simply holding the door open for my wife.

My wife questioned the employee about her comments and she confirmed that she did indeed talk to my children in such a manner.

The Employee then proceeded to verbally attack my wife about the incident. As we ushered our children outside, they were crying at this point, and as I take my last step out the door, the employee says to me ‘You need to teach your kids some manners’.

I was floored. I have never been more offended entering any place of business in all of my life. We are not a family of hoodlums. We are a very clean cut family. We were not in the store making a lot of noise, we were not throwing things around making a mess. My children were simply holding the door open for their mother. Manners indeed.

Since it was Christmas and I was not going to head home, I went to the next store that was open. One of your competitors down the street.

After making our selections, and spending quite a bit on some snacks, the employee at your competitor greeted us pleasantly and let us know that he appreciated us coming in. I made a comment that I appreciated his kindness. I then proceeded to tell him what had happened at your store. He was completely stunned. By the time I finished my talking, quite a crowd of other customers had gathered around and everyone was shocked.

On our way out the door, the gentlemen told us Merry Christmas, and I hope to see you again soon. That is quite a far cry from ‘Teach your kids some manners’.

I DEMAND an apology for the way that your employee has treated my family. It is not right.

Rest assured that this story will be shared with our family and friends. I would like to be able to share a happy ending.

I absolutely will never step foot in one of your stores again. NEVER again.

I could not believe that someone would do this. If you go there, watch out for the employees. I know that they have good prices. Prices don’t matter if you get treated like this.
